Moving away fans

Postby Reg Niseth » Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:49 pm

With Man Utd joining Sunderland in plans to move fans into the upper tier and more expensive seats. We contacted the club for an update on the proposals we put to them.

1. Move away fans upstairs to make tickets more affordable for our own
2. Move away fans to a less prominent position in the lower tier

Sue Campbell, fans liaison, is still in negotiations with Stadium Management

hopefully if other clubs start to do this we may follow.

what is a bit sad though is that we have to follow other clubs.
It used to be the other way round. Other clubs used to try and copy what the Arsenal did

I think the only place you can move them to is the Upper tier which I fully support.

Don't think anywhere lower tier is less prominent tbh, that corner and the FE corner are about the least visible really

Moving away fans

I honestly believe we should put away fans in the best seats in the house. Ie on the half way line on the east stand club level and charge them 200 quid a ticket :-)

Moving away fans

What I don't get about away fans is why they are where they are and family enclosure are where they are

If the club had just swapped the 2 around when moving into emirates, given where the TV cameras are, it would have been so much better

its too late now to change imo

Exactly right although the cameras are on the wrong side considering the light in the stadium so, if it's a problem about the visibility of away supporters, the stadium design should have put the cameras on the other side. At Highbury the visitors were hardly seen on the TV as they were in the corner to the right of the cameras.

I say put the away supporters in a special stand facing the Holloway Road with a Jumbotron showing cartoons.

I think the away fans were positioned as close to the bridge and Coach parking area as possible - which makes sense. But I agree that we should shove em upstairs.
