Lot of decent goals among them. They haven't been tap ins.

Top class? Is he?

I really do like Giroud, plays with the right intensity and passion. But top class? I'm not so sure.

Point scoring has always been more important than accuracy to you, hasn't it?

Why do you post on here? Good god, you've admitted enough times now that you couldn't care less about the Arsenal.

The stats say that Ozil has the second most assists in the league behind Fabregas (since he signed) and that he covers more ground then he is given credit for but you still have issue.

Stats tell you what you want to hear most of the time.

I say your stats are wrong.

From my research - this season, played 17 scored 10
Last season, played 36, scored 16

I make that 26 goals in 53 league games
Throw in the previous season when he scored 11 in 34 makes it played 87 league games, scored 37 goals in total bringing the goals to game ratio from 0.58 as you claim indirectly, to a more factual 0.42.

Which nicely proves Gunnersaurus' earlier post about "stats tell you what you want to hear most of the time."

You're confusing stats with mistakes, Nick. A stat cannot tell you what you want to hear.

Of course it can, it just depends on the timeframe you use to get the results you want

yes, I slightly overstated it above

It's 27 in 54 Prem games now, so 0.5 strike rate, which is very good over past 2 seasons, especially given his injury

he was class again yesterday

late developer in his career but now regularly producing at the highest level

but all the last few posts prove is that some arsenal fans don't like to see an arsenal player doing well .. I find that odd .. ask nearly any neutral and they will agree Giroud is having a great season .. get over your agendas and open your eyes

Giroud

Postby Gunnersaurus » Mon Mar 16, 2015 8:55 am

The signing of Welbeck has been important for Giroud, in his first two seasons he's had no real threat to his place, Welbeck coming has changed that and he's responded well to it, as a footballer not much has changed, he still does well (as he should in this team) and has the odd stinker but having to fight to keep the shirt seems to be working to his advantage.

That is true all over the pitch now and we've finally got a squad where no one is safe anymore.

Giroud's doing this season what he did last season .. absolutely nothing to do with Welbeck .. you can't even bring yourself to say he does well without sticking something in brackets after it ..

By the way, that whole post is a contradiction

1. Welbeck arriving has changed things
2. As a footballer not much has changed

And no, I'm not misquoting you .. you just forgot what your point was mid post

Yes, he's doing what he did last season which is score a lot of goals against weaker sides, that hasn't changed, he still blows hot and cold but Welbeck being there means he blows less cold more often than he was doing.

And I guess Giroud could be best summed up by Monaco at home, a game in which after it happened you went missing like he did, not much has changed, he's still the same footballer, still misses and ton of chances and scores others, he hasn't improved although I would say he's slightly more motivated thanks to Welbeck's arrival.

You mean the game where I said in this thread "he had a bad game" and on the match thread "Giroud was poor".

Well researched.

Still, it highlights the difference between you and I. I don't decide in advance of a football match (or a whole season) who is going to play well and stick to that opinion regardless of what happens.

Well you do, you had it in your head that Ozil was going to be poor but then embaressed yourself in the other thread by retracting it after watching it back then backtracked by saying how well you want him to do when all you do is take pot shots at him to prove your point about Giroud because Ozil is given an easier ride and no one follows you into believing Giroud is World Class.
