Disillusioned

Genuine question does anyone else feel totally disillusioned with what is going on at the club the same way I am. What with Theo gone and soon to be Alexis which is painful to me.

1 I never thought Theo would ever leave & to me it feels like a bereavement.
2 To sell our best player to that cretin at Utd & what’s worse we all know that he will rub our noses in it at every opportunity which will hurt at least to me.

I really thought that the days of us doing this were gone. I just feel that I have no excitement about going to games anymore although I will. I can’t even get excited about the possibility of landing Aubameyang and the rest that we’re linked too.

Feel so let down by the club & the players at the moment & have no confidence in either.

Does anyone else feel like me? Or can anyone give me some positive vibes to drag me out of this frame of mind.
You are my Arsenal my only Arsenal you make me happy when skies are grey you`ll never know dear how much I love you please don`t take my Arsenal away.

Can't disagree. I used to watch games with a mixture of excitement and confidence, even when we were shit in the 60's and, to an extent, the 80's. My interest has not diminished but the last few months has killed my enthusiasm. Last Sunday I gave up watching at 1-0 because they were so poor it was obvious what was going to happen. Maybe our expectations have been raised so high that the current poor fare is unacceptable.

POSITIVE Alert!
I watched the U23's trounce ManU the other evening and that was very entertaining!

Disillusioned

Postby Gunnersaurus » Thu Jan 18, 2018 4:33 pm

Yes, not going on Sat as just can't face it at the moment, everything that's happening at the club makes me sad and got too much anger to go there and 'get behind the team

It's not just the selling of Sanchez, I understood while he wanted to leave but as it's progressed I dislike him for going to the money and that c u n t Jose, would have been able to swallow it at City because they are going to dominate so can half understand it but United are no different to Arsenal at the moment apart from being slightly more focussed as a football team and not just a business, apart from the obvious riches, I don't see it as a move he dreamt about where I could wish him well, they certainly won't be winning the trophies he demands to win as City will get there first, even Liverpool look better set for a challenge.

Theo, glad he went, for his own sake more than anything, he's gone stale here and the change will do him good, wish him every success at Everton and even though he was annoying sometimes, he handled everything well which I respect.

It's not just the transfers though, the performances on the pitch have been diabolical, it's so hard to watch and the situation around the declining has been manager is worse than the car crash of last year.

They really need to pull something out of the bag in this window or it's going to be a horrible end to the season and can see more games going on the TX from me.

Disillusioned? Not yet. I’ve lost that enthusiasm and anticipation I used to have though.

What hurts me the most is our style of play. So laboured, so sloppy, so slow, especially when Ozil and Santi aren’t on the pitch. The other pain is my indifference toward the vast majority of our players. If Auba does come I’m hoping he’ll bring a bit of life and cheekiness, bad boyness into the team. Wake Jack up, his interviews are like listening to someone on anti-depressants. Maybe even remind our manager what it’s like to have blood coarsing through his veins.

I will give a positive view on how we are doing right now.

We have seen some great games against the mancs, mickies and Chelsea this season and because we are nowhere near winning anything or indeed doing anything at all means that the results the we got, two draws and a lost doesn’t depress me anymore.Im enjoying the football for what it is.

Saying that we are a complete shambles and it will not get any better anytime soon while we have Wenger in charge, along with Gazidis(what exactly does he do) and the main culprit Kroenke.

We have a squad that is laughable with second rate players like Awobi,Welbeck,Chambers,Holding,Cech,Mertesacker ELneny to name a few we got rid of Coquelin and Walcott,Bellerin is going backwards Kos in not looking the best and we are selling Sánchez. We have missed Santi something chronic and dare I say Ramsey is a miss as well.

On the bright side we might be getting a couple of real good players in and furthermore Wenger is only here for another season after this one.

And then hopefully the big changes that we all know that’s needed will start to happen.

I am looking forward to the match tomorrow but midweek games, which for me were always the cream, are becoming a chore and it frightens me to say that.Maybe we were spoilt for a while but never the less we are really underperforming as a club.

Disillusioned

Postby I Believe Overall » Sat Jan 20, 2018 7:51 am

I'm a glass half full person but I can see nothing but froth at the bottom of mine right now. I genuinely fear for the longer term future of the club and actually football in general. Our majority fan base is elderly and tired of waiting for change - but the only ones who can afford to go. Our younger fan base have seen nothing but a decline into a sterile, forced atmosphere. The league is being swallowed up by Oligarchs and rich people from around the world playing vanity games and leaching off the fans. Even the FA Cup can't generate crowds now because the clubs won't take it seriously. The players are earning too much money compared to the value they offer the fans. Kids shirts cost too much and they are out of date every year - all three of them. You can't get get kids price tickets unless they are a member...the list goes on.

I feel like a downtrodden bloke who married the wrong woman but can't get out of the marriage.

Other than that...nice to see Jack back.

Supporting The Arsenal is like being on a treadmill it's tough when your going up but when you hit the top it's great and gets easier then as we see now there's a rush to the bottom and the agonising climb to the top starts again. Rumour this morning from John Cross is that Sanchez is off but Mkhitaryan is not coming as he doesn't see a future here. The club apparently is holding out for bucket loads of money because once that slimy git Raoli has taken his cut there is nothing left.
Alls well and nothing changes down Highbury way.
