I think everyone agrees he works hard, holds the ball up well, brings team mates into play so he is a good all round player with one exception he misses too many chance.I`m not saying he should be dropped but he must become more clinical then he would be one of the best.

Every striker misses chances Henry missed his far share and he's the best striker we've ever had! Most strikers wouldn't even get the chances he gets because they wouldn't work as hard to find the space or hold the ball up to create their own chance.

Controlled it well, shame about the easier chance in the first half.

Finished it confidently too. Added to the neat control, that's a double positive !

I'm going to continue to stick up for him, he's a good player just needs better service and another striker in squad fighting for his place and so he can be rested. Getting treated far to harshly.

Since Ozil and Rambo got injured he's had very little service and no runners helping by taking away defenders, 20 goals is not a bad return for a season.

I think that's a little unfair. I'd like him to be less poncey when battling with defenders but otherwise he's a decent option for us. Would love other real options to come in.

what the frenchie does not do is cause enough problems for the defenders. he needs to put himself about a bit more, he's a bit of an iron hoof to be honest

aka THELUMBERING OAF

its impossible to win league without a quality striker almost certain to score 20 league goals.

outside of sumo wrestling the oaf must be theslowest professional sportsman . we need him injured before transfer window closes in hope even our deranged manager does other than promote sanobloodyuseless to no 1 striker choice.

Bit harsh but we do need a more consistent threat in front of goal. Giroud is really pissing me off with his give up attitude when he cocks up or loses the ball.

I agree Wilko.

We need someone a lot better than Giroud. We wont challenge without a prolific striker, solid CM and a quality centre half.

Giroud would be better off taking part in The Walking Dead as one of the Zombies he wouldn`t even have to act

In all seriousness I don't think Giroud is a terrible striker, I just don't think he benefits from the system we play. He would be best in a two man attack.

I think that's pretty much "nail on head". The way that we play, we need another Henry type. There's no point in having loads of crosses from our wide men that have bombed it to the line to then find out Giroud isn't even up there with them.

Loads of crosses from our wide men ? Have I stumbled onto the wrong forum ??

I think Giroud is more than effective if he stays busy and the midfield get to work playing around and off him. Better to be clever in his position/role than quick.

Giroud is just a good back up striker, someone to bring on with 20 to 30 mins to go when things aren't happening or he might nick a late head goal.

the only time i am happy to see him, is when Wenger is dragging off Sanogo after 65 minutes and bringing Giroud on
