Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Postby Rainham Red » Thu Feb 18, 2016 9:35 am

Reports saying that he wants to have one season in the Premiership before assumedly retiring. Incredibly talented but now 34 and obviously not the player he was. When he was young he came over to Highbury with a view to signing for us but refused to have a trial purportedly saying `Zlaten doesn`t do trials`. Do you think he is worth a punt bearing in mind his salary would be mind boggling?.

He'd be the ultimate impact sub but he'd want all the tv money for himself. I think we missed that boat several years ago.

He may want a year stop off on his way to China, hopefully not at our place.

He is quite a character and would certainly sell a lot of shirts but I don't think he would fit in to our team.
he does make me laugh though.

Commercially yes, he would certainly boost the coffers.

Player wise, although he still quite clearly has a lot of talent, think he is probably passred it now although Bergkamp was never pacey......

As I said earlier in the week, I've changed my mind. I'd take him.

Well, I think I've always got caught up in the character that the media portray when it comes to this bloke. I'm disappointed to have done so as I've been watching him on and off for a long time and some of the things he gets up to on the pitch are unbelievable - his crazy dribble and goal for Ajax yonks ago was astounding. There's no doubt that he's got an ego but there's less doubt about his ability and watching the way he played against Chelsea the other week it left little doubt in my mind that he would bring something special to any side he joined. Age isn't as much of a factor with this bloke either as the way he plays (Clever along the same lines as Ozil, rather than full-on like Sanchez), his technique and the way he looks after himself means he's probably got a few years left in him.

I`m not doubting his ability he is brilliant but he knows it and he`s not afraid to let everyone know so I wonder if he might cause problems in the dressing room.
