The game that could end our season of make it .
Must not concede and give ourselves a fighting chance in the second leg.
ATH Madrid will love it if we go gun Ho as they will soak it up and hit us on the break.
We need every player to turn up give their all for this one and maybe we get through it.

Very Churchillian Tenbob. You are right we must not let them score and we really need at least a two goal cushion for the second leg. Hopefully, the Emirates will be packed with the fans right behind the team like that magical night when we beat Barcelona 2-1 the fans were really like a twelfth man.

Looked like two yellows to me.

The time in the match is irrelevant.

Our goal scorers are as guilty as our defenders.

Not sure if the crowd fed the players, the players fed the crowd, or the Manager's announcement fed everyone.

Looking at his behaviour in the stands, Simeone is an intense bloke. As with the complete direction change that followed GG/Rioch, I think an individual such as the Argentinian could have a similar influence.

I could be wrong though.

I'm looking forward to the second leg, despite my current disappointment

Seems like Welbeck 's getting away with it. If he'd gone to the corner they don't score. But he has no left foot so he cuts inside to two defenders goes down loses the ball. They hit a long ball and our ball watching back line gets caught out AGAIN.

Disappointing result but good performance, just frustrates me that with 10 mins to go and clean sheet protected they decide to chase the game, they'll never learn.

There were seven players trying to score and 3 defenders on the half way line, keeping the clean sheet was just as important as the second goal, highlights why Wenger has and never will win a European Trophy.

Tie is not over though, next week is a final, to win this Europa we would have had to beat them in a one off game so now it's right there just a round early.

Koscienly will be the first player binned when the new manager comes in.

Unfortunately it's more than just Kos that needs to go.
The mindset of the whole club needs to change. There appears to be no responsibilty for mistakes , the whole team needs to defend and think about what they are doing. 1 nil was a great result it meant that they had to come forward and score in Madrid ,now a nil nil is good enough.
It's in the coaching , the way we go forward but never play to hold a lead.

I think we started very well but if you don't take your chances and you can't win against a 10-men team without their manager
you won't play the final, simple as that.

The atmosphere was pretty good (I was in Block 123), but when we conceded that late goal the game was over.

I thought for the first half-an-hour we were terrific absolutely tore into them and could have scored three or four but their Goalie was brilliant. The next seventy minutes we were pretty poor the usual passing sideways, back, forward sideways again. However, I haven`t given up on the second leg we only need to win 1-0

Criminal to concede, performance just about sums us up.

End of the day, the situation hasn't changed, to win the whole thing we would have to beat Athletico away from the Emirates and score more goals than them.

Have to treat next week as the final and go for it.
