Who's happy with our business this summer and why?

Equally,  who is unimpressed with our dealings and why?

As much as anything it's who is still there which is worrying. I liked Kolasinac when he arrived, he looked the gritty midfielder we needed, but that didn't last. Willian has done the decent thing and good on him. Elneny, Holding and Chambers are squad players who wouldn't be missed. The last three Arsenal managers, the Swiss team manager and the people who chose team of the tournament at the Euros all obviously rate Grani Shagga highly but most of us think he is stealing his wage. He is also a disciplinary nightmare who costs us points frequently. Happy with Ramsdale as backup and if he's less impulsive than Leno then he can be a starter. Odegard should be an upgrade on what we have but I know little of the other signings so, on the basis that things can't get any worse, I trust they will do well.

@red-snapper yeah an unfortunate side effect of our dreadful dealings over the last decade or so. So many average players on Champions League contracts and wages they can't be shifted.

Like you, I actually like Kolasinac at first but the last 2 seasons he's been woeful. I think that's slightly down to being forced in to defence when his strength was clearly going forward.

I think overall we've done very well future proofing ourselves with young talent and finally getting that wage bill down to a respectable level. (Would be interested to know how much of our loanees wages are being covered by the receiving clubs) We now have decent cover when Tierney and Partey get inevitably injured that hopefully push Kola, Xhaka and Elneny a bit further down the pecking order.

Little bit concerned we haven't addressed the striker issue. If Aubz goes missing again and with Laca struggling to hit a barn door, that only leaves novice youngsters in Martinelli and Balogun to pick up the pieces. As much as I want them to step up, I don't think we can/should rely on them

In a nutshell. I'm fairly pleased with the signings. We haven't got the pull of CL or EL football so atleast with the players we have, they "should" be playing for the team and not the glam of European football. Time will tell.

the board/owners have backed all the managers even though the popular thing is to say otherwise. their big fault might be who they have given positions to. arteta will live or die on this transfer window hill.

Simple must win today and again at Burnley or he should go.

No good talking about a project when the fundamentals of competing are non existence.
