Looking forward to this game as I think City are a different side without Toure.
Would keep Bellerin at RB and loved to see Ozil restart his career at Arsenal and show everyone what a player he can and should be.
My only fear is him playing may effect Carzola as he has been very good in his absence.
With results not going our way yesterday we need to get something from this game and start our usual charge.

I'd keep Hector in as well , not keen on the suggestion that Flamini & Coquelin should both start , there's a red card waiting to happen there , I reckon we'll get at least a draw , come on you Gunners.

You clearly didnt see Dennis play , he was well capable of leaving his foot in & did some numerous times , should we take Aguero out , nah should Koscielny or Mertesacker or whoever let him know he's in a game , damn right , you think Zabaleta or whoever isnt going to say good afternoon to Sanchez , you need a reality check , the top , top teams have super competitive players , players that dont get schooled on a regular basis.

That just about brings an end to this disagreement, as we obviously agree (Not sure why it had to come to any discussion at all in the end).
The rest is just arguing for arguments sake. I saw plenty of Dennis Bergkamp btw, as did most of us on this forum, so anyone trying to explain what his game was all about is just being patronising.

I mised a handful of his Arsenal appearances & wouldnt dream of trying to write down what the great mans game was all about , point is that all great sides have players that can dig in when the chips are down but Wenger has produced a side lacking in both physical & mental strength & you want to drone on about hard tackles shouldnt be allowed , jog on.

Now you're just making things up ( I said nothing of the sort) and I'm jogging on. Honestly, I'm jogging

Henry 'We miss a Vieira or Gilberto'
Souness 'They are a team of son - in laws'

Niall Quinn runs through the lineage of demanding Arsenal players who dragged their team-mates kicking and screaming to league championships — Frank McLintock, Peter Storey, David O’Leary, Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell.
The list runs out in 2004, the last time Arsenal won the Premier League, and Quinn is left to muse sombrely about Arsene Wenger’s current centre-backs Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
‘Lovely players but I don’t see them driving their mates on like Vincent Kompany or Pablo Zabaleta do at Manchester City,’ he says ahead of Sunday’s battle between two of his former clubs at the Etihad. ‘The best teams are ashamed and embarrassed to lose a runner or concede a header at a free-kick, but how many times do you see Arsenal let in a cheap goal and just walk out looking at the ground?

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has called for Arsene Wenger to address the Gunners’ weaknesses in central midfield and defence, warning that without changes his former side will not be able to compete for top trophies.

Making his punditry debut on Sky Sports after signing a £4 million-a-year deal with the broadcaster, Henry cautioned that Arsenal are missing “a big piece”.

Addressing the weaknesses in the side’s defensive record he said: “They are missing a Patrick Vieira, a Gilberto Silva. I’m not attacking anyone but those guys would have done anything for us, to allow the front four to perform well.”

“I think that Arsenal don’t have that now. It’s easy to have a go at [Per] Mertesacker but does he have the right protection? It is a team effort and I don’t think they have that now. That position is one of, if not the most, important position on the pitch. You need to have protection.”

Souness said: "Thierry can’t say this but would you be disappointed with any of those players coming home with your daughter?

Fair play to Wenger he's actually set us up tactically very well , I'll have to have a lie down.

Haven't felt so proud of the players, manager and whole set up of my Arsenal for a long time.
Brilliant display with every player giving their all for the team.
Santi was incredible but every player deserves credit.
Every time I thought they had a one on one , two more yellow shirts appeared.
Just a great performance.

“ Arsenal come streaming forward now in surely what will be their last attack. A good ball by Dixon, finding Smith, for Thomas, charging through the midfield. Thomas, it's up for grabs now! Thomas! ”

You've been needing that lie down for about 24hrs. :D Not sure why you moved the subject on from 'letting them have it' (Which we actually agreed on btw) to replacing PV4 and Gilberto. I've actually been saying for two years now that Arteta needs replacing for someone better, although I'm not the type to hark back to past players as time's change and you struggle to clone such figures.
Whilst we're both at each other our little Spaniard gave a masterclass of a performance in CM and shows that size isn't necessarily everything. The word Legend has been mentioned on this forum recently but that was a legendary performance from a player building a strong reputation at The Arsenal. Class and heart are far more important.
I don't want to single any one player out today though as every man played their part and all deserve recognition. Even Monreal who I've gone on record as saying he lacks courage. Maybe I've been watching him evolve into a PL player. Le Coq was superb too.
I've been slating Per for a while now but it seems that after him having such little to do, and Ospina having even less to do, it is clear that the midfield is the key to our success. And today proved that we do have the players to succeed, we just need the consistency.

Silva and Aguero were muted today, and no sight of letting them 'ave it or taking them out. Just raising our game and doing the right things ;)

Great great match. Well done every Arsenal man and well played !

apart from 20 minutes in the 2nd half when tactics went out the window, we did a very good job on them.

Well done to all the lads, we need to push this on in to our next away league to Tottenham
